Summary of Position

We are seeking a Rheumatology trained physician to join us in pursuit of high-quality patient care.


The ideal candidate

  • 1-3 years clinical experience in an outpatient setting
  • Patient-centered approach toward a positive patient experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Interest in Population Health


Principal Accountabilities

  • Review patient’s history and perform physical examination.
  • Evaluate, diagnose and provide appropriate treatment and patient care.
  • Recommend and order lab tests including X-rays of the joints to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition.
  • Diagnose disorders and diseases of the musculoskeletal system and immune system.
  • Diagnose and treat rheumatic disorders of the skeletal system, muscles and joints.
  • Treat patients with rheumatic diseases including, but not limited to lupus, tendonitis, arthritis, myositis, scleroderma, and osteoporosis.
  • Prescribe anti-inflammatory drugs and other medications.
  • Formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans.
  • Refer to occupational or physical therapy as required.
  • Participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings.


Qualifications 

Education, Training, Licenses, Certifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or foreign equivalent
  • Completion of three year post graduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency program in Internal Medicine.


Relevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Completion of a Rheumatology Fellowship
  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Rheumatology
  • Candidate must possess a New York State License
  • Be eligible for DEA registration
  • Be eligible for Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement
  • BLS or ACLS certification
  • Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written.
  • Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office.

Typically, new hires may not start at the top of this range, as compensation is tailored to each individual's circumstances. For union positions, salaries will be determined according to the collective bargaining agreement.
