Primary support contact for Interface Team for Epic systems interfaces, connectivity of applications, transfer of data and Business Application integrations. Responsible for scoping, gathering specifications, conducting research, application builds, and enhancements, testing and providing user support in accordance with ACP’s policies, procedures, and business operations. Analysis and support is accomplished in a team environment.


  • Scopes, develops and delivers major enhancements (200 – 400 hours projects) and/or simultaneous minor enhancements (40-200 hour projects) in accordance to IT project standards and best practices.
  • Performs in-depth analysis of workflows, data, interface specifications, integration points, APIs, system details, and other technical issues associated with the integration. Analyzes new functionality in releases to recommend how it should be used to prioritize and implement requested changes to the system.

  • Provides support of daily and ad-hoc requests regarding various applicable systems integrations and interfaces. Troubleshoots problems and questions from end users. Ensures all system issues are logged, prioritized and tracked through the resolution stage while escalating critical issues to management.

  • Interfaces with key IT, clinical and operations staff to assist in the development of efficient workflows. Analyzes business operations as they relate to build decisions.

  • Provides project task oversight for system enhancements assigned to project resources.  Coaches and mentors team members.

  • Participates in testing system enhancements (i.e. new modules, upgrades, product installs).  Performs rigorous testing of new code, templates, scripts, etc., to deliver high-quality end-user solutions.

  • Develops and delivers solution innovation for new services, improves services or to lower costs, operating under deadlines and challenging workloads.

  • Escalates vendor issues for missed deadlines or deliverables.

  • Uses judgment and initiative in solving highly complex problems and developing solutions to tasks or projects which may be unique.

  • Solves complex problems and develops solutions to tasks or projects which may be unique, using judgement and initiative.

  • Performs other job-related duties as required.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or relevant work experience and applicable certification required
  • For Epic: Applicable Application or Integration Certification (e.g. Epic Bridges, InterSystems Ensemble) required

  • Minimum 5 – 8 years’ systems design and analysis experience including 2- 4 years in-depth EPIC experience required

  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) preferred

  • Knowledge of Interface and Integration Concepts. HL7, X12, XML, JSON and/or other industry standard data exchange protocols required

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Visio preferred

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills required

  • Strong documentation skills required

  • Strong critical thinking skills required

  • Prior experience with Epic EMR release 2012 or higher required

  • Knowledge of SQL preferred

  • Knowledge of Python preferred

  • Knowledge of PACs or similar archiving storage application preferred

  • Experience and knowledge of common clinical and revenue cycle integration workflows preferred
