Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Formal ophthalmic training preferred
Some college coursework, preferably including basic anatomy and medical terminology courses preferred
Current Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) certification as COA, COT, or CMOT. (Required within 12 months of hire) preferred
One to two years’ experience in an eye care environment required
Prior experience with ophthalmic testing and scribing required
Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, organization ability, time management and the ability to effectively prioritize work required
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail and documentation required
Proficiency with computer use, especially an electronic medical record required
Knowledge of medical terminology, particularly related to ophthalmology required
Prior experience in a fast-paced, high customer volume work environment preferred

Typically, new hires may not start at the top of this range, as compensation is tailored to each individual's circumstances. For union positions, salaries will be determined according to the collective bargaining agreement.
