Summary:
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant who specializes in Gastroenterology medicine. 

Responsibilities:

•    Conduct advanced Gastroenterology assessment of patient, documenting pertinent findings.
•    Initiates, performs and interprets diagnostic tests. and/or endoscopic procedures.
•    Systematically compares and contrast clinical diagnostic findings with normal and abnormal variations in making differential diagnoses.
•    Identifies expected outcomes that incorporate evidence-based practice
•    Designs strategies Utilize evidence-based care practices to meet the multifaceted needs of complex patients.
•    Selects therapeutic interventions that reflect current clinical judgment.
•    Evaluates diagnoses and the effectiveness of the interventions to achieve expected outcomes.
•    Prescribes treatments, therapy procedures, and medications in accordance with New York State and federal law.
•    Consider the patients comprehensive overall health needs with integrated delivery of patient care.
•    Collaborate with other clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of care of patients.
•    Perform other job-related duties as required. 
•    Participate in Staff educational programs and meetings
 

Qualifications:
•    Nurse Practitioner: Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN)
•    Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the New York State Education Department.
•    Seeking a minimum of 2 years’  and above experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner assessing gastroenterology medical conditions.
•    Current Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from a New York State approved accrediting body – American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
•    Must possess current, unencumbered New York State Nursing (RN) license. 
•    Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll.
•    Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
•    Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written.   
•    Comfortable with the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system and Microsoft Office
 

Qualifications:
 
•    Physician Assistant: Bachelor of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies 
•    Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies 
•    Graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) 
•    Current NCCPA Board Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) 
•    Seeking experienced – 2 years and above 
•    Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration 
•    Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll 
•    ACLS certification required  
•    Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written 
•    Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office
