High School Diploma or GED required

Successful completion of the curriculum in Phlebotomy from an accredited school; or two (2) years recent experience in the capacity of a Phlebotomist required. Phlebotomy/Medical Assistant certification required.

A minimum of one (1) year technical experience, preferably in a medical environment and prior experience in a fast-paced, high patient volume environment are highly desirable.

Excellent communication skills required.

Demonstrated competence in all procedures required by a Phlebotomist, including, but not limited to bleeding time tests, blood cultures, blood collection, sampling and handling is required.

Ability to effectively assess feasibility and quality of specimens and testing and communicate such to physician to ensure usefulness of specimens relative to diagnosis required.

Excellent customer service and patient care skills are required.

For union positions, salaries will be determined according to the collective bargaining agreement.
