Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
Formal training and completion of course work from an accredited sonography school required
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
One to two years of experience as an Echo Tech preferred
Greater than 900 clinical hours of documented echo scanning in combination with a RDCS or RCS Registry certification required
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to explain technical procedures and results to patients in user-friendly manner required
Demonstrated competence in Cardiac testing and EKG. Ability to use correct body mechanics to assist patients appropriately required
Demonstrated ability to work independently required
Demonstrated basic computer skills including typing. Experience performing mathematical and scientific calculations. required
Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred

Typically, new hires may not start at the top of this range, as compensation is tailored to each individual's circumstances. For union positions, salaries will be determined according to the collective bargaining agreement.
